Lot Description

An early 20th century 18ct gold opal and diamond half hoop ring, the five cabochon opals are claw set with single cut diamond decoration. Hallmarks for Birmingham1912.  Weight 4.5gms.

Overall fair condition, with light surface scratches commensurate to the age of the piece. The opals all have crazing to the surfaces, both the outer opals have a chip to the bottom edge and further nibbles. They all have a good play of colour except for one of the outer opals which has a more milky appearance. There are some small chips to some of the diamonds, they vary in shape also. Ring size Q 1/2.
