Lot 294

Lot Description

A Victorian garnet and split pearl ring circa 1880, the central channel of garnets flanked to either side by split pearls with openwork shoulders. Width of centre 0.7cms, Weight 2.63gms.

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

Overall fair condition, with light surface scratches and minor nicks in keeping with general wear and the age of the piece. The ring is quite tarnished and would benefit from a clean. There is a solder join easily visible to the back of the ring. One of the garnets has a large chip across a crown facet, another has a small chip to the girdle and another has a surface reaching inclusion. The garnets are fairly well matched. The split pearls are not very well matched, they vary in hue, most show blisters and pitting. Ring size L.
