Lot Description

Continental white metal spoon, the large plain bowl with engraved initials to the reverse, also engraved 1754 and with a further struck mark within an oblong punch, the relief moulded and twisted stem with figurative terminal. Length measures 7 1/4 inches (18.5cm), weight 1.55 ozt (48.2 grams).

The spoon displays general wear, tarnishing and surface marks and scratches.  Metal feels slightly thinner towards the tip of the spoon bowl.  Initials on reverse of bowl read 'C H' and possibly an 'n' and another 'C'.  The struck mark is quite distorted, possibly contains a 'W' alongside another mark.
