Lot Description

A 1930's silver cigarette case, the front case with blue guilloché enamel, the reverse with vertical engine turned decoration and vacant cartouche. Hallmarked J W Tiptaft & Son Ltd (James Walter Tiptaft) Birmingham 1933. Height measuring 3 3/8 inches (8.5 cm), weight 3.5 ozt (109 grams).

The cigarette case displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. There is a little damage towards the bottom of the hinge. The clasp has become stiff. The elastic to the interior has been cut. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
