Lot Description
Early 20th century small silver compact of octagonal shape, with inset circular hinged lid decorated with yellow guilloche enamel and opening to reveal a mirror to the reverse and a gilded interior. Hallmarked Henry Matthews Birmingham 1921. Maximum length 43mm.

Condition Report
The compact displays general wear, tarnishing and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. There are also some minor nicks. The hinged lid is in good working order and the enamel is generally okay, although there are some minor surface nicks and edge chips. Hallmarks are rubbed but are still legible.
