Condition Report
The snuff box displays general wear and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. Some of these scratches are deeper and more evident. There are also some minor nicks in the metal and some small dints but generally the engraved decoration is in fairly good condition. The hinged lid is in working order although it does not shut tightly so that there is a small gap when closed. The interior was possibly once gilded but this has now worn. There are also numerous marks and it is very dirty but most of this will probably clean away. The reverse of the lid is engraved with the date 1914 below a shield cartouche containing a W symbol. It is hallmarked to the interior base and although it is very dirty the marks are still legible. It also bears registration number 596145.
