Lot Description
A late Victorian garnet and split seed pearl brooch, circa 1890. The oval-shape garnet within a split seed pearl and openwork surmount with a seed pearl drop. Length 3.5cms. Stamped 9ct. Weight 2.7gms.

Condition Report
The brooch is in overall good condition. The garnet has a red to orange red hue. The saturation is even. A surface reaching fracture can be seen to the pavilion. The split seed pearls are well matched. Minor blemishes can be seen to the nacre. All settings will need attention. Light scratches and scuffs can be seen, general wear.
