Lot Description

Indian white metal table cigarette box of rectangular form, the hinged lid with raised inset panel ornately embossed with birds of paradise amongst flowers and foliage, the sides engraved and punched with stylised scroll and foliate motifs, the whole on four corner bracket feet.  Two punched marks to the interior base. Measuring 6 3/4 inches (17cm) by 3 1/4 inches (8.5cm), weight 10.77 ozt (335 grams).

The cigarette box displays general light wear, surface marks and scratches and some tarnishing.  Minor nicks in the metal and a little more wear to the edges and corners.  Some more visible scratches to the interior.  The hinged cover is in good working order, although possibly a little loose.  Two punched marks to the interior, one possibly reads 'AF'.
