Lot Description

Dutch pill box of cartouche shape, the hinged cover embossed with foliate scrolls and diaper motifs surrounding a windmill on one side and a figure on the other, with conforming foliate decoration to the sides;  together with a pair of miniature metal tweezers.  With personal engraved dedication to the underside and date 18.6.1946.  Sword mark to the underside (1906-1953), also another mark in a square punch, possibly an overlaid initial, which is also repeated on one side of the lid. Maximum length 72mm.

The box displays general light wear and surface marks and scratches, scratches are more visible to the underside and also to the interior base.  Hinged lid is in good working order although there is a slight gap when the lid is closed.  Marks on the underside are legible.  Personal inscription reads 'To Lea from Ruth 18.6.1946'
