Lot Description
A mid 19th century mourning brooch. The oval-shape hardstone intaglio depicting an urn with an inscription reading 'In memory of' within a black enamel scrolling surround. Personal inscription to reverse reads 'Mary Saul ob Jany 21st 1851 at 34'. Length 4.8cms.

Condition Report
The lot is in good overall condition with light scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. The intaglio is in good condition, there is very minor abrasion. There are some more noticeable scratches to the back outer surround, the back pin is metal and has possibly been replaced. The woven hair panel and glass are in good condition. Weight 25.2gms.
