Lot Description

A late 19th century ebonised chiming bracket clock. Anonymous, circa 1900, having an 8" break-arched dial, the silvered chapter ring with Roman hours, Arabic minutes and fleur-de-lis half hour divisions framing a matted centre, within cast spandrels beneath silvered subsidiary Chime/Silent and Westminster Chimes/Chime on Eight Bells dials, the movement with foliage-engraved backplate, striking on a coiled gong and quarter-chiming on a carillon, the break-arched case with flambeau cup finials over Corinthian columns, the sides with arched lattice tracery beneath leaf-capped handles on a cavetto-moulded base and brass ogee bracket feet, 19", (48.5cm) high.
