Lot Description

A 19th century cast gilt bronze cartel clock.  Having a 4.5" convex dial with blue Roman hours and black Arabic minutes, the two-train bell-striking movement with Samuel Marti exhibition stamp, numbered 451 and stamped H & F Paris, outside countwheel striking, the case with chased foliate scrollwork and flowerhead decoration framing a lattice grille beneath the convex-glazed dial, 18.5", (47cm) high.

Dial - several haircracks, at 5, 10, 20, 35, 40 and 50.  Movement - appears sound.  Case - surmount is separately cast.  Back is sheet brass with sheet door and crude catch - these may be later.  Overall gilt finish is good.
