Lot Description
A mid 19th century rosewood-cased mantel clock. Having a 4-inch arched silvered Roman dial with minute track and heart-shaped hands, above engraved foliate scrollwork and cartouche engraved "H. Cammann 1850", the chain-driven single-fusee movement with four bulging pillars, the pendulum with micrometer adjustment, in a foliate scroll-topped case with arched glazing and bevelled side panels on plinth base and block feet, 9.5", (24cm) high

Condition Report
Dial - general rubbing and tarnishing around winding square and between numerals VII-XI. Pin to hands is later. Minute hand slightly bent.
Movement - appears sound, though backplate is unsigned and going barrel is unusually above the fusee rather than below. Pin missing to connect feather to pendulum rod (easily replaceable).
Case - minor cracking to veneer of front door frame, rear door frame, and strip beneath latter. Split to one side beneath glazing. Small loss to hinged edge of door and corresponding area to frame at same side.
