Both casters display general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. A number of dints visible to the George II example, the pierced lid also has a number of tears and holes. The hallmarks to the George II example are partly distorted, particularly the date letter possibly reading 1729 or 1731. The hallmark to the 1920’s example appears clear and legible, the makers mark a little distorted. The 1920’s example has various scratch marks to the underside of the base.
