Lot Description

A late Victorian silver christening mug, the gothic script monogrammed floral cartouche and engraved floral panels, to the tapered cylindrical body, with plain handle. Hallmarks for John Williams Johnson, London 1884. Length 2 5/8 inches (6.7 cm), weight 3.14 ozt (97.7 grams).

The lot is in fair to good overall condition with light scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. There are areas of black discolouration to the mug. There are some noticeable dents to the sides and rim along with some surface scratches. The base is stamped 1573. The hallmarks are slightly worn and the makers mark is almost illegible.
