Lot Description
George IV silver teapot of compressed circular form, with gadrooning to rim, loop handle and standing on four bracket feet, the main body decorated with a continuous moulded ovolo and dart border, the circular hinged cover with a foliate embossed flower shape finial. Hallmarked London 1822, maker's mark WT. Maximum length of teapot measures 10 1/2 inches (26.5 cm), weight 20.5 ozt (638.8 grams).

Condition Report
Teapot displays general wear and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. Various minor nicks and dints in the metal and also some surface dints. Possible repairs to spout, seam line visible towards the tip. Also possible repairs to the handle. The main part of the handle is fitted between two ivory or bone mounts, the pins are now loose so the handle is also now loose. Solder marks are also visible near these two mounts and there is also a large discoloured area to the centre of the handle. Hinged cover in good working order. Hallmarks are clear and legible.
