Lot Description
A possibly George III gilt key wind pair case pocket watch by Hughes, London, the white enamel dial with black Roman numeral hour markers surrounded by an outer minute track with Arabic divisions, the cases, the inner gilt, the outer case made of tortoise shell, fitted with a signed gilt full plate fusee and chain movement with square baluster pillars, verge escapement and pierced balance cock. Outer case diameter 49mm.

A key wind pocket watch, movement is functioning intermittently, fusee chain appears to be intact, balance spring is out of true,dial is lightly scratched, with tiny marks and small areas of discolouration, chipped between eleven and twelve o'clock, hands are marked and discoloured, glass is scratched, some of the marks may polish out, but deeper marks may remain, would benefit from a clean, case has medium and heavy scratches caused by general wear, with areas of wear and discolouration, wear and rubbing to the crown, outer case is scratched with areas of wear, a small crack, a few areas of discolouration.
