Lot Description
A possibly George III gilt key wind pair case pocket watch by Marchant, London, the white enamel dial with black Roman numeral hour markers surrounded by an outer minute track with Arabic numeral divisions, the inner case is missing, the outer case made of tortoise shell with painted decoration, signed gilt full plate fusee and chain movement with square baluster pillars, verge escapement, pierced balance cock and diamond end stone. Outer case diameter 47mm. Inner case is missing, watch A/F.

Condition Report
A pocket watch, movement is not functioning, fusee chain appears to be intact, balance has play in it but not an excessive amount, dial has small marks, light scratches and a few tiny chips, the hands are missing, watch is A/F as inner case and glass is missing, tortoise shell outer case is cracked, a small area of the tortoise shell with painted decoration has broken off, inside of the outer case shows signs of wear, residue and discolouration visible.
