A late 19th century gold micro mosaic brooch The tesserae depicting the Doves of Pliny, to the oval-shape onyx plaque within a rope-twist surround with bead detail. Possible French assay marks, indistinct. Length 5cms.

Overall condition good. Light tarnish, scratches and scuffs can be seen to the canetille surround, in keeping with age. A few small nicks can be seen to the onyx panel.
