Lot Description
Late twentieth century Dutch export silver teapot of straight sided cylindrical form with detachable oval lid, the main body heavily embossed with figurative panels depicting natives at various activities, the whole with beaded and floral borders throughout, a fruit wood handle, straight sided spout and standing on four very small bun feet. Struck with Dutch marks and 930 and hallmarked with import mark for Louis Landsberg, London 1891, also with the Foreign mark. Maximum height including lid finial measures 6 3/4 inches (17 cm), gross weight 15.65 ozt (486.7 grams).

Condition Report
Teapot displays general wear, all over tarnishing and surface marks and scratches in keeping with the age and use. Embossed decoration is generally good with only slight loss of detail. Some small surface nicks and dints, and also some edge knocks to the base rim. The ebonised fruit wood handle is now worn. Rim to the collar is slightly misshapen. Main hallmarks to underside are clear and legible and Dutch marks are slightly rubbed but still legible. Also hallmarks to the cover, which are clear and legible.
