Lot 447

Lot Description

Continental twin handled vase of baluster form with frilled rim, the main body engraved with oriental landscape scenes in between a Greek key style border to top and bottom, with applied twin loop handles.  The underside impressed Vietnam c.900 and a further mark of a five pointed star alongside the letter m and 875 in an oblong punch.  Height measures 5 1/8 inches (13 cm), weight 258.5 grams.

Total lot weight: No

Vase displays general wear, tarnishing and surface marks and scratches.  There are also various minor nicks in the metal, especially around the frilled rim and a small surface dint to the main body on one side.  Some deeper and more visible scratches to the underside.  Due to the tarnishing, it is difficult to see the engraved decoration clearly.  Marks to the underside are legible.
