Lot 457

Lot Description

Continental set of ten small spoons, possibly Italian, each with a plain pointed bowl leading to a spiral twist stem and a decorative terminal pierced with ovals and circles and a diamond shape to the centre.  Each struck with marks just below the terminal including a crowned head mark (probably the Italian National mark for 800 silver). Approximate length measures 5 inches (13 cm), weight 76.3 grams.

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

All spoons are quite heavily tarnished and display general wear and surface marks and scratches.  The metal on each spoon appears to be quite thin anyway, and there is a little bit more wear towards the tips of the bowls.  There are some deeper more visible scratches in places and some minor nicks/dints around the rims and edges.  Struck marks are mainly legible.
