Lot Description

A continental Art Deco style casket of shaped oblong form, each corner surmounted with a cabochon hardstone of elongated hexagonal form, the oval hinged lid surmounted with a stylised seated figure and the body raised above four ovoid hardstone feet. Marked to the underside 800 V.G. Maximum length measuring 7 3/4 inches (19.5 cm), gross weight 19.5 ozt (606 grams).

The casket displays general scratches, marks, and wear commensurate with the age and use. Heavy tarnishing visible and would benefit from a clean and polish. The feet appear a little loose in position  and the hardstones overall display a couple of minor chips and visible hairline cracks. The box wobbles slightly. The marks positioned to the underside are clear and legible.
