Lot 497

Lot Description

Victorian Scottish silver pair of dessert spoons, each in single strike King's Pattern with engraved monogram to terminal, hallmarked James & William Marshall, Edinburgh 1858;  together with other items of Scottish silver flatware to include a Victorian Old English Pattern butter knife, a pair of George IV salt spoons, hallmarked Charles Dalgleish, Edinburgh 1820, and a single Fiddle Pattern teaspoon, hallmarked Edinburgh 1822, with later engraved terminal.  Combined weight 5.29 ozt (164.7 grams). (6).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

All six items display general wear, areas of tarnishing and surface marks and scratches.  There are some deeper and more visible scratches in places and various minor nicks in the metal.  The bowls to the dessert spoons and salt spoons have faired reasonably well, however the teaspoon bowl does now appear to be fairly thin and there is a small round punched dint to the centre.  Hallmarks are all generally legible.
