Lot 662

Lot Description

Late Victorian silver mounted scent bottle of teardrop shape with lobed sides and embossed with floral and foliate motifs, the hinged cover with conforming lobed decoration and opening to reveal a glass stopper.  Hallmarked Horton & Allday, Birmingham 1892.  Maximum height measures 8 cm.

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The silver is quite tarnished all over and displays general wear and surface marks and scratches.  There are some minor surface dints and some slight loss of detail to the decoration in places.  A line is visible all the way round the lid and this has formed a very slight split in the metal in places.  Hinge and clasp are in good working order.  Hallmarks are positioned around the neck and are slightly rubbed but still legible.  Also with registration number 141006.
