Lot Description

An Edwardian silver snuff box of pebble form engraved with the engraved crest of a unicorn and anchor above the motto ‘Depressus Extollor’, hallmarked Arthur & John Zimmerman Birmingham 1902. Together with a silver match case of plain rectangular form and gilt interior, hallmarked Trevitt & Sons Chester 1922. Gross combined weight 4.4 ozt (138 grams). (2).

The snuff box is very tarnished with general scratches and wear, a few dents are visible particularly to the right edge. The lid has been bent slightly causing to not close fully and the press release not functioning, the engravings and hallmarks are very visible with only the maker’s mark being slightly rubbed. The match case is in very good condition with general scratches and a little pitting visible, the hallmarks are clear and legible.
