Early Georgian silver pair of circular plates.

Both plates display general wear and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use.  Both have numerous deeper and longer scratches to the plain centre, also small nicks in the metal, some small surface dints and some spots/areas of tarnishing.  There are also some very deep long scratches to the underside.  Hallmarks to both are mainly obscured, however on one plate the lion passant and date letter are legible and on the other the lion passant and part of the date letter are visible.  The border is more typical of Regency decoration, which is why it may have been altered at a later date.
