Lot 425

Lot Description

Early twentieth century silver gilt cased set of six coffee spoons, each decorated in blue guilloché  enamel to the reverse of the spoon bowl and to both sides of the slim stem.  Import mark for Henry James Hulbert, London 1912/13 (only three spoons bear the maker's mark).  Gross weight 2.42 ozt (75.4 grams).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

All spoons display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.  On three of the spoons, there is some damage to the enamel, with cracks, chips and small pieces missing.  On two of these spoons the damage is mainly on the stems, however the other also displays considerable damage to the reverse of the bowl.  There is some wear to the gilding, however the spoon bowls have faired quite well.  The hallmarks are mainly legible.
