Lot 64

Lot Description

A late Victorian silver three piece tea service of classical form, comprising teapot, twin handled sugar basin and cream jug, each piece of octagonal sided form with fluted lower bodies, bright cut engraved motifs and borders,  a monogramed  shield shaped cartouche and each raised above a pedestal base. Hallmarked A. Beardshaw & Co Sheffield 1896. Gross weight 35.4 ozt (1102 grams).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

All three pieces to the tea service appear in good condition with light general scratches, dints and wear from general use. The teapot has a few small dints, one larger dint to the fluting. The hinge is in good working order but the lid does not close fully. All hallmarks on all three pieces are very clear and legible. The tea service looks to have been recently sympathetically re-polished.
