Lot Description
A George III inlaid mahogany tea caddy. Circa 1780, the hinged moulded rectangular cover, with lacquered brass swan-neck bale handle over ebony and boxwood chequer stringing, enclosing three divisions each with removable dovetailed caddy having a sliding cover with conforming inlay, 9.5" x 5.25" x 6" high, (24cm x 13.5cm x 15cm).

Condition Report
Cover in good order except underside where moulding is well-patched.
Some losses to sliding interior covers, mainly to rear corners but also a split beneath. Typical losses to internal lead lining.
Exterior is quite faded but sound. the plinth base looks to be original, though there are two discreet holes to each corner where it may have had bracket feet..
