Lot 327

Lot Description

A continental stoup, with an openwork back plate modelled with a central female religious figure below a large crown, scrolling foliage on either side with swag and ribbon motifs, the small circular basin decorated with bands of foliate scrolls and formalised leaf patterns.  Struck marks to reverse reading 'F.G. Garrilla' and possibly '800'.  Height measures 10 1/2 inches (26.5 cm), gross weight 274 grams.

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The stoup displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use.  There is some slightly heavier tarnishing to some areas and it would benefit from a clean and polish.  Later or replacement screws fixing the basin to the back plate.  There are contact marks visible around the screws, possibly from previous fixings.  Struck marks are legible.
