Lot Description

George III silver soup ladle in Old English pattern, hallmarked Thomas Wallis II, London 1803;  together with a George I Britannia silver table spoon in Hanoverian pattern with long rat-tail to reverse of bowl, hallmarked London 1716, and two George III silver table spoons, also in Hanoverian pattern, one plain and one with shell heel, hallmarked London 1762 and 1763.  Combined weight 7 ozt (220 grams). (4).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

All spoons and ladle display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.   Deeper scratches visible to some areas and various minor nicks and pitting marks throughout.  The three spoon bowls are all quite worn and misshapen towards the tips and are in fairly poor condition.  One of the George III spoons is also quite heavily tarnished.  Loss of detail to engraved initials, etc.  Hallmarks are all legible, however the marks on the stems of the spoons are quite squashed so that it is difficult to see all the marks clearly.
