Lot 427

Lot Description

Late Victorian silver set of dessert knives and forks for twelve place settings, with floral and foliate engraving to both sides of each blade and conforming floral designs to the base of each fork, all with shell motif to ferrules and mother of pearl pistol grip handles, in original wood case.  Silver hallmarked Harrison Brothers & Howson (Henry Harrison), Sheffield 1893.

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The pieces in the lot display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.  There are some deeper scratches and various minor nicks visible but generally the overall condition appears fairly good.  The fork prongs and knife blades have all faired quite well.  The mother of pearl handles on a couple of the knives are a little bent but generally the handles are also okay.  The hallmarks are all clear and legible.
