A white metal caster in eighteenth century style, of octagonal sided baluster form with girdle detail and footed base, the cover pierced with stylised foliate motifs.  Maximum height including finial measures 5 3/8 inches (13.5 cm), weight 4.44 ozt (138.3 grams).

The caster displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.  Deeper scratches and various minor nicks are visible and there are also several small surface dints.  There is flood of solder visible at the base of the bulbous section.  Some dints, cracks and splits visible to the pierced lid.  Not hallmarked.
