Lot Description

Stearn, William T. (after Bauer, Ferdinand),
"The Australian Flower Paintings of Ferdinand Bauer", a facsimile edition double elephant folio containing 25 reproductions of coloured botanical drawings after the 1801-05 originals, in fine gilt-stamped tan calf and black morocco Australian map-decorated and moire silk-lined covers stamped SANGORSKI & SUTCLIFFE/ZAEHNSDORF, hand-inscribed to endpapers "This binding of The Australian Flower Paintings of Ferdinand Bauer by Zaehnsdorf of London was produced by special arrangement with the Company for Mr Anthony Graham in May 1992. The binding is a facsimile of an edition of five copies originally produced in 1977. There will be no further copies of this original edition produced by the company", housed in original blue cloth slip-case with gilt-stamped black morocco spine.
