Lot Description

She seated beneath a tree with flower basket gazing at a perching bird, he kneeling behind her and reaching for his slap-stick, dressed in red and black chequered costume, on a naturalistic base, incised number '782' and underglaze blue crossed swords mark to base, 7", (18cm) high.

Typical bocage damage/restoration.
Under UV light and to bite this has obvious restoration to the leaves of the tree. Less obvious are the restored handle of the basket and to the base of the slapstick. The lady's left hand also may be remodelled but does not show under UV
