Lot 11

Lot Description

A George III pair of silver candlesticks, each of plain outline with a vase shape socket above a tapering column and leading to a spreading, circular, filled base with oblique gadrooning to rim. Hallmarked John Green, Roberts, Mosley & Co., Sheffield 1804. Height measures 8 1/8 inches (20.5 cm).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

Both candlesticks display general surface scratches, marks, wear and some light tarnishing, all commensurate with the age and use.  Some general minor nicks and some minor dints.  Considerable loss of detail and definition to the gadrooned rim.  Seam lines are visible.  Some rubbing and partial distortion to maker's marks and hallmarks but all are still legible.
