Lot Description
A nineteenth century pair of steel scissor form candle snuffers, with patent 'guillotine' action and scrolled stems leading to oval ring handles. Together with five other similar steel pairs, with patent 'guillotine' or similar actions. Longest measures 6 7/8 inches (17.5 cm). (6).

Condition Report
Varied condition, however all the snuffers display general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. All are quite tarnished and rust is visible to some areas. More wear to edges and corners and also some rounding of the metal. One of the pairs appears in poorer condition, as the feet are missing and the sprung 'guillotine' action is now very loose and not working properly. The other pairs all appear to be in working order.
