Condition Report
Both the items display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some deeper scratches and nicks are visible to both and also some small surface dints and bumps. The hinged lid to the capstan inkwell is in working order. Hallmarks are located around the base and part hallmarks to interior of lid, all are legible. The other inkwell has a couple of larger, more notable dints to the base rim and to the domed part of the lid. The finial is leaning slightly to one side and an impression is visible to the interior of the lid. The hinges are in working order. The underside, which is covered in green baize, is quite uneven so that the inkwell wobbles. Some rubbing to hallmarks but still just legible.
