A George III silver chamberstick, the circular base rising to the open-work stem and detachable nozzle. Hallmarked London 1771, with the maker's mark WC tentatively attributed to William Cattell, lion passant and maker's mark only to the detachable nozzle. Height measuring 3 1/2 inches (9 cm), weight 7.9 ozt (247 grams).

Condition Report
The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The base appears misshapen. Much heavier scratches to the surface of the chamberstick. Decorative rims have rubbed and lost definition. No snuffer present. Hallmarks are a little rubbed but legible.
