Lot Description
An early twentieth century silver mounted table cigarette box of plain rectangular form, the slightly domed lid with engraved crest and initials, and opening to reveal a wood lined interior with single divider, hallmarked Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd., London, date letter indistinct but probably 1902. Together with three other table cigarette boxes of varying size and design, each with a presentation engraving or plaque, one impressed Malaysia to the underside. Dimensions of silver box measure 7 inches (18 cm) by 3 3/8 inches (8.5 cm).

Condition Report
All four boxes display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The silver box displays numerous deeper scratches and marks, also several dints and bumps, especially to edges and corners. The engraved crest and initials are very worn and faint. The lining on the underside is very worn and lifting at the corners. Hallmarks are also very rubbed and some of the marks are quite indistinct. Some general small surface dints and bumps to the other boxes. Hinged covers are all in working order.
