Lot Description

A James Dixon & Sons silver part canteen for six place settings, comprising six each of table knives and forks, dessert spoons, forks and teaspoons, also five dessert knives and two tablespoons, each of plain outline with tapering handle leading to a shaped terminal. Hallmarked Sheffield 1966. Weighable silver 44 ozt (1369.8 grams). (37).

All the pieces display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.  Some deeper scratches and nicks are visible.  The spoon bowls and fork prongs all appear to have faired quite well.  The edges and tips of some of the steel knife blades are quite worn.  The hallmarks are mainly clear and legible.
