Lot Description

A William IV sauce ladle with spiral twist baleen handle leading to a plain silver oval bowl with everted rim. Hallmarked Taylor & Perry (John Taylor & John Perry), Birmingham 1833. Length measures 6 1/2 inches (16.5 cm).

The ladle displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use.  The silver displays some patches of heavy tarnishing and a couple of surface dints and bumps.  The hallmarks are located to the centre of the bowl and they are clear and legible.  The handle is in fairly poor condition with various splits and cracks.  The condition is worse at the base of the handle.
