An early George III silver Old English sauce ladle with double drop heel and crested terminal, hallmarked London, date letter indistinct and the maker's mark unregistered, mark attributed as probably William Tant by Grimwade. Together with a matching example hallmarked London 1767, maker's mark indistinct. Gross weight 2.3 ozt (74.2 grams).

In good overall condition, the spoons look to have been recently polished. The heel appears a little rubbed with a little loss of definition. The hallmarks are distorted.
