A small collection of novelties comprising an early twentieth century small silver vanity compact, initialled with mirror insert to the lid, hallmarked London 1914, a silver vesta case with engine turned decoration, hallmarked Birmingham 1917, a continental small match strike with removable wick, a modern silver cigar piercer, hallmarked Birmingham 1975, a silver mounted fruit knife with mother of pearl handle, hallmarked Sheffield 1929 and white metal thimble. Condition Report
In varied state, displaying general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. Heavy tarnishing visible and would benefit from a clean and polish. Match strike is dented, possible French hallmarks visible. Hinge to fruit knife is at fault and does not hold open, the steel insert has also deteriorated/rusted, mother of pearl chipped. Hallmarks where present are clear and legible. The thimble is unmarked, possibly plated.
