Lot Description
An Edwardian silver and tortoiseshell trinket box, of plain oval form with decorative border to the hinged lid and central tortoiseshell panel inlaid with a silver basket of flowers. Hallmarked William Comyns & Sons, London 1907. Maximum length measuring 2 1/4 inches (5.7 grams).

Condition Report
The box displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. A couple of minor surface dints and bumps are visible, especially around the edges. Some deeper scratches and contact marks visible to the underside. Holes are visible in the silver border with corresponding holes in the tortoiseshell from where it was originally fixed with pins. The pins are no longer present and the tortoiseshell is now glued in place. Remnants of glue are visible around the edge. Some of the hallmarks are partly distorted and rubbed but all are still legible.
