Lot Description
A mid-nineteenth century Austro-Hungarian silver snuff box, the oblong form with engine turned decoration with turquoise and black enamel detail. Austro-Hungarian hallmarks for 1863, town mark distorted. Length measuring 8.4 cm, weight 84 grams.

Condition Report
The lot displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. Heavy tarnishing visible and would benefit from a clean and polish. Some wear to the definition of the decoration. Some chips and losses to the enamel. Austro-Hungarian mark to the inside base is partly rubbed, the date has been repeated in a separate mark, also TS. Gilding to the interior appears tarnished. Vacant cartouche to the underside.
