Lot Description

A nineteenth century steel sewing clamp with pin cushion and spool, studded border decoration and heart shape finial to the screw, engraved with maker 'Joseph Rodgers & Sons, Sheffield'. Length when clamp is closed measures 4 3/4 inches (12 cm).

The clamp displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use.  It is quite tarnished all over and rust is also visible to some areas, especially the edges. There is some damage to one of the studs. Likely replacement fabric to the pin cushion. The screw is in working order. It is engraved 'Joseph Rodgers & Sons, Cutlers to His Majesty, No 6 Norfolk Street, Sheffield.
