A good late Victorian carved walnut stick barometer.
William Aronsberg & Co., Manchester, circa 1880
The angled two-part white scale printed in red and black and reading from 27 to 31 inches of pressure, signed above, with twin verniers flanking a partially exposed main tube,the finely carved scroll-edged figured trunk with flower-carved break-arched surmount, twin adjusting knobs, mercury Centigrade and Fahrenheit thermometer and elaborate cistern cover, 42.5", (108cm) high.
