Lot Description
An early 20th century continental 18ct gold and platinum ruby, diamond and cultured pearl bow brooch. The cultured pearl and rose-cut diamond bow, suspending two square-shape ruby lines, with rose-cut diamond and cultured pearl terminals. Length 6cms. Weight 9.2gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition fair. There are scratches to the brooch and and areas of significant wear in areas. There is some lead solder repair to the back of the brooch fitting. The rubies are a pinkish red, some rubies are chipped with areas of abrasion. There are typical inclusions many visible with the unaided eye. They slightly vary in colour, some with a stronger saturation of colour. The channel settings appear dented. The cultured pearls have a white to cream body colour, displaying pinks and greens, there are visible significant blemishes and blisters. The diamonds are grey, there are areas of abrasion to the diamonds visible with magnification, individual size and/or setting prevents accurate colour/clarity assessment.
